The Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) United Nations team seeks to bring theory, research, and practice of work psychology to support the achievement of the United Nations mandates.
Volunteer Opportunities to Support SIOP’s work with the United Nations
There are a number of ways you can volunteer to support SIOP’s work with the United Nations -- at the organizational, group, or individual level!
SIOP UN Committee’s Role
Educate, advocate, and make direct contributions to the programs and goals of the United Nations Economic and Social Counsel (ECOSOC).
Strategic Goals
- To support the United Nations in achieving its mandate through high quality solutions to address humanitarian and development issues within United Nations common system through I/O psychology expertise (aligned with SIOP Goals 1, 2 & 4)
- In conjunction with the United Nations common system, set up organized infrastructure for facilitating pro bono work with SIOP (aligned with SIOP goals 2 and 3)
- Form multi stakeholder partnerships with the UN common system to identify potential projects where SIOP members can apply I/O knowledge to aid the UN common system in mandate delivery (aligned with SIOP goals 1, 2, 3).
- Engage in internal development and succession planning.
